Hi, I have a question to ask I'm even uncomfortable and embarrassed asking you. I was told I have hemangioma and I don't really know which doctor I should see for such issue? I have scoliosis and I was told hemangioma is located at L5. I will be seeing a spine surgeon soon but as hemangioma I keep thinking a spine surgeon is not good enough. I heard something that a hematologist deals with hemangioma would this be the right doctor I'm seeing? Am I suppose to see a oncologist or hematologist I'm getting confused like this? I also want to know how is hemangioma treated I heard something that they get rid of it by laser surgery is such thing true? Please let me know about this soon.

Hello and thank you for sharing,
You need to see a Dermatologist for hemangioma. The treatment will be determined by the size and location of the hemangioma. These are the following treatments: laser, oral medication, medicated gel, and surgical removal.

Hi, Thanks for your reply. It doesn't sound right to be a dermatologist because what I have is internal because I have scoliosis and I was told hemangioma is located at L5. I'm still not sure which would be the right doctor to see. Please let me know.

I understand now that it is internal.
The doctor who diagnosed you will be able to refer you to the proper specialist.
