Hello,
Ever since I first started puberty (in 4th grade) I've had a constant flow of fluid from my vagina. It's usually clear and scentless, but it's also very annoying. I've been wearing panty liners since elementary school, and I usually go through 3 to 4 a day. If I don't wear anything, there is enough fluid to leave a damp spot on my pants. I hate having to wear these as I'm always soggy, and if I can't change them fast enough it really does a number on my skin. I think it makes me more prone to yeast infections, but I'm not sure. My skin is also so conditioned to being damp that if I wear something without pantyliners (say a bathing suit for example) I get terribly dry and chaffed skin, and you can imagine how uncomfortable that gets. I'm 20 now and have been dealing with this for over a decade, but I've always wondered if it was normal. I did mention it to a doctor once and he said it was no big deal, but I didn't quite explain how much fluid there was. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there any way to get rid of it?
Also, I have found small tampons to be extremely helpful in this issue, but I don't know if it's safe to be using them when I'm off my period. Any advice on that?
Thanks in advance! :D

Hi Rebecca,
Vaginal discharge that is clear and doesn't have odor is common as it is the reaction of the vaginal area cleaning itself out. If you are in need of tampons for regular discharge on a contant basis, this would not be regular and I would follow up with your phsyician and explain the severity of your condition. Keep us posted.
