okay so basically I'm 16 years old and diagnosed with polycystic ovaries. Im prescribed contraceptive pills to help get my period. so I'm taking Co cyprindol right now. There's 21 pills in the pack. first question, if I stop taking it without finishing the set, what happens? second question, if I just take 14 pills will I get my period the week after? reason why is, I have to go somewhere on the week where I'm supposed to get my period but it's a religious thing and I can't be on my period. so what do I do? do I stop taking or refer to the other questions please! need answered before Sunday! thank you.

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for reaching out to us.

In your case, you must speak with your physician. Because you have been prescribed Co cyprindol to regulate your menstrual cycle, it may not be advisable to make any changes.

In general, a woman continues to take a daily hormone containing birth control pills and skips the placebo pills when she wants to delay the onset of her period. She will have taken six weeks of active pills by using two packs.

As you may know, Co cyprindol contains the active ingredient, ethinylestradiol, In addition to use as an oral contraceptive, this drug is prescribed to treat severe acne and moderately severe hirsutism, which is a condition of unwanted, male-pattern hair growth in women.

Regards,
Maryann
