I was diagnosed with CD in 2009. I was able to cope with it with the help and support of my family .what I want to know is- Is this condition permanent?I mean I feel fine now but is it going to stay with me forever?....is it completely curable or that just the symptoms go away? not that i'm ashamed but people kinda stop talking to me once i tell them about my medical condition.

Dear Anon,

Thank you for your question and welcome to EmpowHer!
Conversion Disorder has no real cure for it BUT it is very treatable and many times patients begin to recover spontaneously. Once the physical symptoms can be ruled out, everything else starts falling into place. If what you are afraid of is people not understanding CD, you don't have to share that you have CD with them until you have developed a true and meaningful relationship. At that point, bringing it up and teaching them what it is and how it's treated can help them better understand and not be scared away. Keep in mind that people fear that which they do not understand so talking about it until after they have gotten to know you can help ease them and you as well.

Best Wishes!
