Could I be pregnant?

Hi,
I have been on loestrin 20 for about 2 years. I take my pill for 3 weeks and then a seven day break, I normally get my period within the first two days of the seven day break but it's been 6 days and I still haven't got it. I've always been regular so I'm quite worried. I thought I might be pregnant because I wasn't well for a a couple of days and was vomiting which can stop the pill from working so I took three pregnancy tests and all have came back negative, is there any chance the tests could be wrong? Should I start taking my pill again tomorrow?

Hi Anon,

Thanks for your question-- did you take the pregnancy test after your period was already late? If you did and it was negative, then the reason for your vomiting may have been an illness... like a stomach bug. Stress and Illnesses are known to cause a late or missed period. If you want more reassurance before continuing your pills, you can ask your doctor to perform a blood test and then if that comes back negative resume your pills.
