Hi,
There you go! So no worries. You used back up birth control, and you took the test which came up negative. You're fine, your period is just late, which is completely normal. It may be a good idea to make note of how long your cycle ends up being this month, and next month. If you see a new pattern emerging or if you are having irregular periods a lot and it bothers you, you can contact a gynecologist or your family doctor to look into options for helping regulate your period better.
Take care, and thanks again for finding EmpowHER.

Hi Dazedandconfused,
Thank you for your question and for being a part of the EmpowHER community. I'm sorry your boyfriend broke up with you. Did you want to break up too? The pregnancy test generally is pretty accurate. Now that it's 31 days since your last period, you could take another test just to be sure.
Is it possible you're under a lot of stress? Stress can affect your period. It seems like you're having a long cycle or skipping this month. Are you on any birth control?
Please give more information so we can try and help you. Good luck and let us know how you're doing.
