I had sex with my boyfriend unprotected on Tuesday August 3rd. I admit that he came inside of me just a bit before he was able to pull out. On Saturday August 7th i recieved my period like I was suppose to and it lasted for its usual 5 days and I thought nothing more of it. But today over a week after the end of my period I had sex again and about an hour later i used the bathroom and realized I was bleeding. While having sex i know my boyfriend didnt cut me a little or tear anything because I know what that feel like and I also read that in the early stages of pregnancy there could be a light flow of blood involved especially afte having sex. But i do not if I could have my period, be spotting a week later and be pregnant. So what do yu think? Could I be pregnant?

Thank you so much your comment has already made me feel so much better. I did not know that you could bleed from sex at anytime, tear or no tear. My boyfriend is concerned about getting me pregnant but is more concerned that I have been bleeding for what seemed like no reason. But from what you are saying I gather that there is little chance that the bleeding is in relation to pregnancy. Am I correct?

Anytime you have unprotected sex, you have an increased chance of pregnancy. Since you are having frequent unprotected sex, I urge you to use condoms or birth control...please let me know if I can help you find resources, as I hate the thought of you taking so many chances!

The symptoms you are experiencing now are unrelated to pregnancy. If you had unprotected sex today..please go get Plan B as soon as possible!

Plan B works, because it actually takes women 10-14 days after ovulation for a fertilized egg to implant. Plan B works to help prevent implantation, if you did have an egg fertilized. Pregnancy does not happen in an instant; it is a process that includes an egg "waiting" in your fallopian tube for 1-2 days after ovulation, sperm to travel into your vagina, cervix, uterus and tube to penetrate the egg. Then, the fertilized egg must travel down the fallopian tube, into the uterus, where it finds a place to implant. This implantation does not occur for 10-14 days...and is the reason to use Plan B immediately if you had unprotected sex today!

Women can bleed from intercourse, and there does not need to be a tear. Just the act of penetration and increased blood flow to the genitals can cause a little bleeding, and this is normal if it is just a few spots of blood.

Spotting can happen after sex, and it can also happen in-between periods.

Bottom line: yes, you could be pregnant from having unprotected sex. If you do not want to be pregnant, please use emergency contraception, and use a reliable form of birth control next time! I'm actually surprised, since you already had a previous "scare" from another unprotected sex episode that you and your boyfriend would do this again...condoms are so easy to use! Is your boyfriend worried about getting you pregnant? Is he unwilling to use a condom? Please know we are here to help..I just don't like to think of you worrying for the next 10-14 days, wondering if you are pregnant or not. You will need to wait until mid-September for your next period to begin, or take a home pregnancy test. I hope you are not too stressed out waiting that long; we're here to talk more if you need! (And, we can suggest a few good ways to talk to your boyfriend about birth control).
