could I be pregnant?

I took the next choice pill on the 9th after having unprotected sex with my husband. I've had light spotting for a week now but still no period. Normally I would've gotten my period by the 15th (yesterday). Should I be worried that I may be pregnant?

Hi Jesse

Here is what the Next Choice website FAQ says:

"8. How will I know if Next Choice worked?

In most instances, your next menstrual period will come at or within 1 week of its expected time. If it is delayed beyond 1 week, you could be pregnant. You should take a pregnancy test and follow up with your healthcare professional." (http://www.mynextchoice.com/Consumer/howtake_QA.asp#8)

So it sounds like it may be too soon for you to worry. I suggest you wait another week and then take a pregnancy test if you have not gotten a normal period.

Good luck, and thanks for writing.
