Q:

Could I be pregnant? I'm on contraception (Jadelle) I have irregular periods that can last up to 2months without a break. But I haven't had my period the last few days.

I have tender breasts and nipples, dull cramps, thick white creamy discharge, light headed at times and I'm also very tired. Is it to early to tell?

Hello Marilyn munroe,

Welcome to the EmpowHER community. Thank you for reaching out to us with your concern about possibly being pregnant. However, I think you really need to speak with your gynecologist.

As you know, Jadelle implant is a form of a female hormone used to prevent pregnancy and is a long-term reversible method of contraception. It can provide protection for up to five years.
If you have the implant in place, I do not understand how you would become pregnant.

Menorrhagia, which is the medical term for abnormally heavy or prolonged menstruation, has been reported in 13% of women taking it during the first year of use, and 25.9% of women using it during the first to five years of use.

Regards,
Maryann
