I had my first period on May the 10th. it is now June the 18 and I have not had a period. i have been having sex frequently about two to three times a day. could I be pregnant or could my period be irregular because of the depo shot.

Steeles, we're all for having fun in the bedroom! But are you hoping to become pregnant? Because while you've just gone off of the Depo shots and probably have some time before you have an actual possibility of becoming pregnant, having unprotected sex every day could result in a pregnancy before you even know that you've begun to ovulate again.

And are you confident that having unprotected sex with him is safe? Meaning, that he has no STDs and that none of the partners he has been with since you have any STDs?

How old are your kids? I only ask because if they know that you are seeing their father a lot, their natural instinct will be to hope that the two of you are getting back together again permanently. If you don't have any intention of doing that, having him so prevalent and intimate in your life may definitely give them the wrong idea, and lead to a lot of disappointment later.

Take care, and write back when you can.

According to Planned Parenthood, "... the birth control shot is long lasting, it can take a long time to get pregnant after getting your last shot — anywhere from nine months to more than a year. So, Depo-Provera is not a good birth control method for you if you’re thinking of getting pregnant soon."

Other sites confirmed this information, saying that it can take several months for your periods to become regular (some women have never had "regular" periods, so please keep this in mind also).

Are you trying to become pregnant? Are you having unprotected intercourse?

You mentioned that you are having intercourse 2-3 times daily?! Is this every day, and for how long has this been happening? Is there a reason for this high frequency?
