Q:

Could I be pregnant or am I experiencing my usual PMS symptoms?

I was supposed to get my period 15 days ago, but I still don't have it. I believe my late period was due to stress, weight fluctuation, and my body clock changing considering I started college on the 26th. Anyways, my boyfriend and I didn't have sex at all before I missed my period 15 days ago. However, yesterday, we had unprotected sex but he pulled out a few minutes before he came. I know that it's too early for any pregnancy symptoms since it's only been a day. But I've been experiencing PMS symptoms for a few days now, even right now. For instance, cramps, bloating, gas, headache, nausea, etc. Is this my PMS? Am I possibly getting my period soon?

Thank you in advance!

Hi Anon -

Anytime you have unprotected sex you are at risk for pregnancy. You are correct, it is too early to tell if you could be pregnant. If your period, as you said, is two weeks late, it's very possible that you are having PMS. Women's cycles can vary from month-to-month, and many reasons, including stress, can cause a late period.  Hope that helps!
