Boyfriend and I had sex yesterday and the condom broke. Even though we always use condoms he always pull out just to be safe so he did that yesterday and the majority, if not all the sperm ended up outside of me. When we noticed the condom had broke he looked around my vagina and saw that sperm was around it but not totally inside. He then got the sperm with his fingers and a cloth. We decided to get NC within an hour of having sex and I have taken both pills. The only thing that scares me is that according to my period tracker I am due to be ovulating today the 17th, and this happened yesterday the 16th when I was was fertile. Are we in good or bad shape when it comes to getting pregnant? Again, most if not all the sperm was not Inside of me. But who knows maybe before he pulled out completely he ejaculated some inside of me .

He didnt use a condom and released inside me. About 4hours later we went and got the next choice pill. I am afraid since im not 17 is there anyway to know whether or not it worked? My breast are tender but i was out tubing all week end so that might be a reason. Im not ruling anything out i would just like some awnsers. Thank you.

I took the pill two days after my period. I had unprotected sex again almost two days after that, for some odd reason I thought it would perfect me the whole month, since I wouldn't ovulate. About a week later I had a pink discharge. Now I'm going into week 4 of taking the ec, and I was told that I should have had.some kind of bleeding by 3 weeks of taking it. I also should no signs of PMS what's so ever. Any help?

Dear Anonymous,
This is really impossible for us to tell. However, if you took Next Choice as directed, then you should be protected. Remember nothing other than abstinence guarantees that you will not get pregnant so if you are not ready for parenthood then you should consider a form of birth control.
Best Wishes,
Rosa

Hi CAgirl1011,
Ovulation doesn't mean that the pill won't work. When taken correctly, the morning after pill will protect you from pregnancy.
Morning-after pills can prevent pregnancy because conception typically doesn't occur immediately after sex. Instead, it may happen up to several days later. During the time between sex and conception, sperm travel through the fallopian tubes until they potentially reach an egg. As a result, using emergency contraception soon after unprotected sex isn't too late to prevent pregnancy.
Try not to stress out, chances are that the pill has worked. Remember that the pill may cause changes in your regular period, but if you are more than one week late on your cycle, take a pregnancy test.
Best of luck,
Rosa
