Hi Iam 26 first time pregnant, in my third trimester.
From few days,I have been having this darkening of the area around the areola, upto 2 inches above, with which my breasts are looking dark and facing same problem with my neck too.
I haven't had this problem before.
Is this is because of hormonal change?
will my skin change to its original color after the delivery..?
is there is anything that i can do to reduce the darkening.?

Hi Anon,

Welcome to EmpowHER.  The changes in your areolas are caused by the increase of blood volume and circulation.Additionally, the increase of estrogen and progesterone causes skin pigmentation that may also attribute to the darkening.  The skin color usually goes back to it's normal color after delivery.

Best,

Daisy
