Hi,
I am a married lady and have mostly had issues wrt my monthly cycles. But almost two years back I started getting regular periods. I got pregnant last year in Aug 2012 but had to abort as the baby was not having expected growth. I went through a D&C procedure on Oct 1st . My next period was on time and was a very heavy flow. Since then I am getting regular periods but the flow has reduced considerably. Since last 5-6 months my period stats with 2-3 drops of blood on first day and then the second day there is no flow. On the second night / third day I get some flow ( 1 pad full day) and then the 3rd and 4th day the flow reduces. I have also put on lot of weight. I consulted the same Gynac which had done my D&C about my issue and he said because of my weight gain I am going through these problems. He prescribed me two tablets Ovacare and Glyciphage SR 500. I have been taking these tablets since last month and have finished one month course. I was supposed to get my periods on 8 / 9 of this month, Aug 2013 but it has still not come. On 11th and 12th I had unprotected sex. Now I am scared that I might get pregnant. I did take an IPill but it was after 72 hrs, so obviously it will be of no use . I am getting slight stomach ache since 6th. I am very worried as we are still not ready for a baby ..... Also after last D&C procedure... I am scared to go through anything like that. Please guide me about what next steps I should take.

Hi,

Welcome to EmpowHER.  Anytime you have unprotected sex, your chances for pregnancy to occur are higher.  Most women will experience cramping, nausea, breast tenderness and bleeding or spotting after taking an emergency pill.  Also, changes to your next period are also possible.  Such as an earlier or later, heavier or lighter period. You will need to take a home pregnancy test to know if you are pregnant.

Best,

Daisy
