ask: did i really ovulate on yaz?
ok ive been on yaz for a month and a half now. the first pack of yaz i took it perfectly and had nor problems. after the 4 white pills i took day one of my second pack, which was on a monday. on tuesday and thursday i missed my pills. on thursday and friday i took 2 doses of yaz, one in the morning and one at night, as well as a next choice pill (pack of 2 as the same time) on thursday night. ive been good on my pills since then. its now 20 days into my cycle and yesterday ( as well as a few days ago, ) i noticed quite a bit of egg white cervical mucus. my husband and i were up all night making love, so im not sure if thats what its from. could i really have ovulated enev though i took the precautions i did?

March 16, 2011 - 8:21amThank you for your question and for finding EmpowHER. It is unlikely you ovulated since it is the purpose of birth control pills to cause you to not ovulate. True, when you forget to take your pills it does increase your risk of ovulation and subsequent pregnancy, but since you took next choice, that (again) is unlikely to have occurred.
It is completely normal for your cervical and vaginal mucus to change throughout a menstrual cycle.
