Q:

Do I need Plan B with my birth control

I have been on Yasmin for 7 years but missed the last two pills on my third week of the pack. During sex the condom broke and now I am worried that even though I am on the pill, I may need the Plan B pill. I am going to start my new pack of birth control today. Please let me know what my chances are of being pregnant and if I should take Plan B with my birth control or if I could possibly be alright with just my pills.

Dear Babybones,

Whenever you miss birth control pills, if you don't replace them the next day, then there is always a chance for pregnancy. The more you miss, the greater the chance. However, this doesn't mean you will get pregnant-- just that you CAN get pregnant.

Your question was posted on Aug 17, which was 2 days ago-- so plan B should have been taken the day after you had unprotected sex in order for it to be effective.

Good Luck!
