I am 67 years old, have been in menopause for 25 yrs and am not sexually active. Do I need to still go for pap tests?

Hi,
Well, there are many factors that determine if you still need to get regular pelvic exams and pap smears. Some of this is age, sexual activity..but other factors include family history and your health status.
The standard of care: if a woman over 65 years old has had three negative pap smears in a row and has had a total hysterectomy, a pap smear may be omitted from routine tests.
Remember, a pap smear is not the only reason to go to the gynecologist, as a pelvic exam is also done, and can detect other conditions.
The best resource for women is the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), and you can read their patient education pamphlet: A Healthy Lifestyle for Women Over 65
Another resource is: Recommended Medical Tests for Women in their 60's
