Thanks for your question, it's a good one! 

Many health care providers will say that one is no longer needed if the cervix has been removed but many nowadays believe it prudent to keep on having then, especially if cancer was the reason for the hysterectomy in the first place.

You should also talk to your doctor about your particular situation.
