hello, I recently asked this question but I didn't make myself clear enough or add enough details.
I was on amoxidal 500 antibiotics for about a week taking them twice a day. I believe the last day I took them I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend. I was also on my period. I take my birth control pill at the same time every day. we did the "pull out method" twice but some still got inside me.. does amoxidal 500 antibiotics effect my birth control at all?.. I can't get to my doctor or pharmacist please help! The brand of my birth control is tri sprintec if that helps at all.

According to Drugs.com *Certain antibiotics, anticonvulsants, and other medicines may decrease the effectiveness of Tri-Sprintec. Ask your pharmacist if you have questions about which medicines may decrease Tri Sprintec's effectiveness. To prevent pregnancy while taking these medicines, use an extra form of birth control (eg, condoms). You may also need to use an extra form of birth control for a period of time after you stop taking these medicines. Check with your doctor for more information.*
I hope this helps. It's best to err on the side of caution when taking antibiotics if you are also taking birth control.
