Q:

Does anyone else sneeze after eating mints?

With near predictability I sneeze following the intake of mint whether it's gum, a breath mint, Listerine breath strips, or something else. I've now come to refer to these items as Sneezey Treats. Following the two sneezes, there are no other symptoms. I don't break out in hives, no watery eyes, nothing.

Anyone else got this going on? I obviously don't need to rush to the emergency room and the solution is even more obvious -- stop consuming this stuff, right -- but am looking for fellow MSPs -- or mint sensitive people. Any out there?

Mints or minty things like tums make me sneeze. It's cause by an over stimulation of a nerve.

Yes me too while I chew on two or three Ice Breakers Mints. Often times I have to sneeze once or twice after days I haven't sneezed. I love it that it helps me to sneeze loud and violent .

I sneezed in French class after consuming ten mint tic tacs and popping in 5 pieces of mint gum. Mind you, I also used mint mouthwash and toothpaste this morning. I had a whopping sneeze of THIRTEEN secs. Everyone was spooked.

I love reading that there are so many mint sneezers out there! I love to chew mint gum, and I never fail to sneeze when I pop in a piece of wintergreen, peppermint, or whatever! Good to know I am not alone!

I sneeze after a putting a mint in my mouth as well which prompted me to search the web for "sneezing with mints" I assume it has to do with the high concentration. I don't think humans were meant to consume an entire mint plant in one sitting. Gesundheit!

If mints make you sneeze you should try NyQuil. Mints, Dark Chocolate, Sometimes Coffee, And The Sunlight All make me sneeze But NyQuil Is The Worst. Those sneezes are strong, Rapid, and many. My husband thinks its the Funniest thing.

I have always sneezed after eating mints usually about 6 times in a row, I do love mint and I also quite like sneezing so its never a problem. I have noticed I sneeze differently to most other people, its just me exhaling and then a little squeek and nothing ever comes out of my nostrils? Also just recently discovered that very dark chocolate can also make me sneeze sometimes.. Weird stuff

I always sneeze after a mint and not just twice, usually eight or nine times - my record is 14. There used to be a guy at work who would feed me mints just for the effect! I also get hiccups from eating raw carrot - but that's probably completely unrelated!

I sneeze all the time after eating mints, chewing any minty gum, more sneezes with Orbit chewing gum. I don't get much chew time because I have to spit it out, never ending sneezes!
