Q:

Does anyone else sneeze after eating mints?

With near predictability I sneeze following the intake of mint whether it's gum, a breath mint, Listerine breath strips, or something else. I've now come to refer to these items as Sneezey Treats. Following the two sneezes, there are no other symptoms. I don't break out in hives, no watery eyes, nothing.

Anyone else got this going on? I obviously don't need to rush to the emergency room and the solution is even more obvious -- stop consuming this stuff, right -- but am looking for fellow MSPs -- or mint sensitive people. Any out there?

Not everybody sneezes when they look at or in the direction of the sun or eat mints I am the only person in my family that sneezes when I'm in that situation some of my family think it's funny and others don't understand why. I have been like this since I was a child and it really irritates me.

Yes same with me, I have turned my curse into a gift and pop one in when I'm around someone I don't like works like a charm!

Yes, I always sneeze a few seconds after putting a mint in my mouth. I have a similar reaction with cacao, but I can control that a bit more. Really strong mints and mint toothpaste can also bring on my asthma!

Yep, I'm another sneezer -- I'm sure I must have been very annoying to other candidates in the exam room whenever I was popping mints like they were going out of style. Chewing gum, minty sweets -- yet surprisingly not affected by toothpaste. Can you imagine shoving the brush up your nostril after a sneezy blast?

I also sneeze with near certainty upon eating minty treats. My nose also starts running and I start tearing up. I still eat them anyways lol.
