I am 5 days post-op and honestly have not showered yet either (I have felt too dizzy). I have zero smell, down there or in my armpits! I have not used deodorant either and have had zero vaginal bleeding/discharge/or smell after an abdominal hysterectomy with both ovaries and Fallopian tubes removed as well. I am 36. I had pretty bad endometriosis and a definite smell for sure, especially after 5 days of not showering. My sense of smell is super heightened as well!

I had a girlfriend of 7 years, and she had her hysterectomy about a year after we met. As a man I have to.say, I loved that her vagina no longer had that smell ( paid it a lot more attention orally) . I think it depends on the man, I like a clean, non smelling, even perfumed vagina, and just loved the fact that she never smelled. I think many men have conditioned themselves to associate vaginal smell with sex and thus need it for arousal, but it's all psychological, and varies depending on the man.

But is 5 month after too long to be experiencing that smell. It's not fishy at all it's more little old blood some not well. Back in the days I used to get my period around the last week of the month ...but I don't have any ovaries or uterus.

My surgery was 9 years ago and I still have the same fishy and another foul odor. I have complained to my physician and have been to the clinic to be tested. I'm told that everything is fine. Well I'm not fine. I need to know how to get rid of this odor. My husband is not pleased either. Please help.

I just had a total abdominal hysterectomy the end of July 2014. Ever since then I have had an unusual vaginal odor. No discharge and it's not fishy smelling but it's weird smell. I'm afraid to be intimate with my boyfriend because of it. My doctor just started me on my estrogen, will that help? Is there anything I can do about the smell so that I can be with my boyfriend again?

On another site, a woman who had a hysterectomy told her doctor that using Monostat 7 for a week every month cleared up the smell.
/Another lady said using a vinegar and water douche helped.
I'm having the icky smell and will experiment with both.
