I've been having pain in right side abdomen and was recently diagnosis with gallstones. At the time I am on a very low fat diet and looking for ways other than the olive oil to help rid the body of gallstones. Surgery is not an option for me and although I have done the olive oil before I was trying not to do it.

There are many sites on the internet that claim to know the remedy to treat gallstones naturally, but none have been proven effective.

You can read more about the olive oil treatment at: Mayo Clinic: Gallbladder Cleanse

There are some options other than surgery, including the use of shock waves or medication: MedlinePlus: Gallstones

Have you had your gallstones diagnosed, and if so, what is the cause? Some gallstones are more severe and can lead to complications; others may not need to be treated. Are you experiencing symptoms associated with your gallstones?

The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) mentions turmeric as a natural remedy for gallstones, although this also has not been proven effective: NCCAM: tumeric.

Lastly, the Mayo Clinic discusses possible home remedies for gallstones, including eating more fiber: Mayo Clinic: Gallstones Alternative Medicine.
