But isn't it possible to get pregnant If he had sperm on his fingers and put it up or on the surrounding of the vagina....can a girl get pregnant that way or is it always sexual intercourse is needed to get pregnant

Hi again.
A woman cannot get pregnant unless she has unprotected sex with ejaculation inside (or*rarely* on the opening) of her vagina. When sperm comes in contact with the vagina, especially during ovulation, there is always going to be some risk. But there is a big difference btw what is a realistic scenario for getting pregnant and a far-fetched or very unlikely one. I hope this has cleared up your concerns.

Dear Sarah,
You are scaring yourself into thinking you could be pregnant that's why. Unless you had sexual intercourse, you are not pregnant.

Dear Sarah,
Thanks for your question.
No. Sperm cannot survive outside the body for 24 hours. Perhaps, 20 minutes at most. Even so, he washed his hands. It cannot be in his pores a day later and find its way inside you. You did not have sexual intercourse. You are not pregnant. Try to relax.
