Q:

Does washing with soap and water kill sperm on hands?

My boyfriend and I engaged in manual sex. If before fingering me he had semen on his hands, I wanted to know if him washing his hands with soap and water is enough to get rid of the sperm so it can't get my pregnant. I'm not on birth control and we didn't use protection. As a precaution before manual sex aka fingering, are soap and water enough to make sure that my boyfriend has no sperm on his hands? I also gave him a handjob and he ejaculated with wet fresh semen on my hands but I went to the bathroom and washed it off with luke warm water and antibacterial soap and then dried after. After drying I urinated and washed my vagina with antibacterial soap touching it with the same hand, in order to prevent a UTI. I'm sorry I'm just really worried that I may not be pregnant so I'm freaking myself out. This event happened March 15th (11 days after my period had started) so its been over 2 weeks since then, if I take a pregnancy test will it be accurate? I don't expect my period till April 3rd

Hello Anonymous,

No. There should not have been any risk for her to become pregnant. After one hour, the semen should have dried and sperm died. Also by washing the hanky with soap and water, she would have removed any residual semen.

Relax,
Maryann

My boyfriend and I took a shower together and I gave him a handjob. Of course we are both wet because of the shower. He then ejaculated but didn't touched any of my body parts. But I had few of it on my forearm. Then my boyfriend washed it with cold running water from the shower. After that, he washed my body with soap. Then I washed my vagina with soap. Is there any chance of pregnancy because i touched my vagina with my hands?

Hi, my girlfriend and I were in the shower and I came on her after I jerked off. The closest my semen got was like 2 and a half inches away from her vagina, by her inner thigh. We washed with soap and water. But I'm afraid that she might've touched my sperm on her leg, and then washed for a few seconds with soap, and then used the same hand to wash her vagina with soap. Can she get pregnant from this???

Hello Anonymous,

The vagina is inside of the body. Washing with soap and water should have removed the semen.

If she used a washcloth to wash herself, she would have been okay.

Maryann

Hello recently I was with my gf and we has sex and i was wearing a condom, from what i can tell i had ejaculated but i hadnt noticed. I rolled off the condom and put on another condom carefully rolling it on. The thing is though i fingered my gf after i had put on the new condom but i hadnt washed my hands before i fingered her. From what i could tell though i dont think i got any semen on my hands at all, she also said she was close to her cycle anyway. Please help my anxiety is going crazy.

Hello Anonymous,

You can relax. By wiping your hands and using alcohol, you should have removed all the semen.
There should not have been any live sperm left to cause pregnancy.

Regards,
Maryann

I cummed outside my gf vagina and its all over her vaginal opening. She was it with water and as soon as she gets home she then washed it with warm water. Can she get pregnant?
