A few months ago, I was turning the corner in my living room and I fell short and hit my left knee inward...from that day forward the pain and been intense and often. I saw my doctor, had xrays taken and was told it was probably arthritis pain, that I would have to live with it. I was given Ibuprofen and told to go home. That was Jan. its now May. So went back and now I'm told it could be a tear or something, I'm scheduled for a ultra sound on that knee, next week. If this renders nothing, I would rather be dead than having to deal with this on going constant pain.

Hello and thank you for sharing your question.
I truly hope that ultrasound renders some answers for you. Since the pain was induced by impact it is likely there are some structural issues causing the pain.
If the ultrasound does not show any structural damage then it could be a pitched nerve. So the next step would be to visit a Neurologist.

Thank you for responding.... I meant to add, I hit my knee turning the corner and hit the couch (smile)...from that day forward, my knee has been unbearably painful. My reason for concern is my age, 56, the fact I'm overweight 270 and constantly being told those factors play a huge part in my pain??????? I live and breath pain pills and I hate it because I work at night and its destroying my ability to focus.
Again thanks for your concern, my appt is this friday....so with fingers crossed and prayers, I hope they find something, anything than telling me to live with it.
