EMERGENCY! NEED TO KNOW IF PLAN B IS NECESSARY ASAP

My boyfriend and I had unprotected sex yesterday on the last day of my period. He ejaculated inside of me only anally and cleaned up immediately after. Today, I noticed a dark discharge which would mean that I began ovulating today. I cannot afford to take PLAN B, so would like to know if its really necessary for me to go out and buy it, or if I shouldn't be worrying.

Guide

Hello nron,

Welcome to the EmpowHER community. I am glad you reached out to us before taking Plan B.

It is unnecessary for three reasons. One, you cannot become pregnant during intercourse on the last day of your period.

You cannot become pregnant during anal sex.

You ovulate in the middle of your menstrual cycle. This dark brown discharge is not an indication of ovulation.

Regards,
Maryann
