I had a mammo about a month ago, and was confirmed negative. But my breast have been sore since then. But lately one has been hurting much worse, swelling, and the nipple has been in alot of pain. I have a very irregular peiord, like once a year, dont know why. I am 28 years old. I have called my dr to make an apt, but was hoping to gain some suggestion before I go see the dr in a few days. Or is there anything I can do to reduce the pain...it hurts so bad! I am not pregnant, had my tubes tied
Thank you

Hi Anonymous,
Good for you for being so on top of things with your mammogram, advocating for yourself here, and making an appointment. Thank you for your question. Many different conditions can cause breast soreness and tenderness, etc. To calm your fears, most breast conditions are not cancer, but it is good you are getting it checked out just in case. Here are some reasons you may be experiencing these symptoms:

Good luck and let us know how your appointment goes. Your experience may help someone else.
