Fatigue, depression, palpitations, dizziness...

Hi, I am 54 year old woman from Finland. I was happy to find this site, where I can actually ask questions. (My native language is not English, I hope you understand me) I have been suffering since last March from extreme anxiety at first and was given antidepressants for it which made me feel even more anxious, sleepless and eventually depressed. In August I started having more physical symptoms, flu like pains all over the body, dizziness, palpitation and started to feel weaker as well. I got appointment with a doctor who prescribed me hydrocortisone for Adrenal fatigue (I did have salivat testing that showed low cortisol levels). Anyway, the anxiety went away, but the fatigue was still there and the other symptoms as well, including depression. On that saliva testing estrogen dominance was also found, but the doctor didnt say anything about it. Before Christmas the doctor gave me some Natural Thyroid hormone to try, but after taking it for 5 days (very little dose), I ended up in emergency room for high blood pressure and even deeper fatigue and depression.. Now I have appointment to a gynecologist and wishing to get some help from there.. Any ideas what could help my condition.. Thank you so much for reading and I am happy to receive any suggestions you might have..

Hi Teija
Adrenal Fatigue encompasses so many symptoms, all are debilitating and can be frightening. Add the combo of menopause symptoms and its a triple whammy. Most important is you are taking charge and looking out for yourself. Find a Dr who has a holistic approach to health and hormone balance. Cortisone injections will mask your symptoms and could put you further down the rabbit hole. Make sure you get a full blood panel done with cortisol testing. Three day stool sample and urine panel will give alot of info as to whatever elseis going on with the way your body is working and absorbing nutrients. Please watch what you are eating. Plants, if you eat meat then organic/grass fed lean proteins, some fruits, nuts, fatty fish. Small meals throughout the day will help to maintain your energy.

Do you get enough sleep? Try to be in bed by 10. Often with AF if we miss the window and dont get to bed by ten then we are up all night.
I suffer from AF in recovery from PTSD and i use Ashwaganda, an ayurvedic herb that is an effective adaptogen. It knows if i need enrgy or a nap. It was prescribed to me by my Dr. as i dont reccomend taking anything until you know exactly what is going on in your body and are under care of a qualified practitioner.

Only the best wishes in your path to wellness

Hi Teija,

What medical conditions have you been diagnosed with? How's your support system?

I'm really sorry that you're going through this.

Best,

Rosa
