FLUTTERING or FLIP-FLOP in the center of my chest several times during the day. Should I be concern?

In 1998 I was told I had a heart murmur but it was very mild. In 1/2012 I started to have fluttering it this in relations to the murmur or is it something else that I should be concerned and see a cardiologist. I appreciate any input. Thank you in advance,

Hi Anonymous,

Thank you for your question and welcome to Empowher. I also have a murmur which is considered benign. I know the flutter, the pounding feeling and also includes the rapid heart beat feeling. You can request an echocardiogram which will check each valve to make sure there are no blockages in your heart. This may also provide a piece of mind. There are many of us who have murmur's and live productive lives. I do not have any restrictions as I am very active. Keep us posted.
