Guide

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER. Thank you for reaching out to us with your question.

A 21 day menstrual cycle is short. This means you are ovulating earlier in the cycle.

How many days after your period ended did you have unprotected sex?

Sperm can live inside you for 2, 3 and up to 5 days. You could have sex towards the end of your bleeding and then actually conceive 4 or 5 days later with your early ovulation.

If your next period is late by at least seven days, test for pregnancy. If you are really stressed, test with an early response pregnancy test, which allows you to test five days before your period is due. Only way to know.

Regards,
Maryann
