I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend for the first time in a long time. It had been 8 months since we both had sexual intercourse could that have made it more likely to get pregnant? A week after we had sex I started to feel nausea and I have been eating alot I also feel really tired and I'm bloated too could I be pregnant?

Hi, FoxyRoxy, and thank you for your question!!!

The fact that you and your boyfriend waited so long doesn't really have anything to do with whether you might be pregnant.

Here's what does matter:

1. When was Day 1 of your cycle? That's when your last period started.
2. How long are your cycles, usually? If you subtract 14 days from the normal length of your cycle, that's about when you're ovulating. So if your cycle is normally 28 days then you are ovulating somewhere around Days 13-14.
3. Did you have unprotected sex around the time of ovulation? Generally, sperm can live for 3-5 days, and an egg can live for 24-48 hours, so if you are ovulating on Days 13-14, you need to avoid unprotected sex from about day 8 to about day 16.

Normally, if you did get pregnant, you would not be having symptoms this early. Symptoms don't normally show up until around the time you would be late for your next period, or even after that.

Here are some great resources that can help you figure out whether you're pregnant:
