hELLO, my name is leesa and I have terminal brain cancer. I was first diagnosed in 2011 in which I had surgery, radiation and over 2 years of chemotherapy. I lost all of my hair during the radiation and it took 5 years for my hair to grow into a style. My tumor came back in 2016 and I had to go through the same cycle of surgery, radiation and chemotherapy I lost all of my hair again during radiation. under my real hair and where my scar is continues to itch and stays very dry. I don't know how to stop it from itching and being so dry. I will talk with my doctor but i thought i would take this opportunity to ask on this site. I am currently using a hair growth shampoo and conditioner. It is called Keranique. It seems to work but i just wash/conditionhoughts or suggestions? my hair. I do not use vitamins. It took 5 years to get my hair to grow just above my shoulders. I always had very long, thick and beautiful hair before cancer. I do wear wigs now but i dont want to wait another 5 years to get my hair normal enough not to wear wigs. Any thoughts or suggestions?
Thank you!!!!

Hello Leesa,

Welcome to EmpowHER. Thank you for reaching out to our community.

As a cancer patient, I also lost my hair due to chemotherapy and shaving for two craniotomies. My hair just grew back without using any specific products. But, I think I did initially shampoo with baby shampoo.

Regards,
Maryann
