Hi Anon

Thanks for your question - your sore sounds painful.

It may be a canker sore - this is an aphthous ulcer that is painful but harmless and affects many people. It can be white or yellowish and is sometimes red around the edge.

Does this description look like that you have?

You also may have caused a lesion on the roof of your mouth by eating something hard or crusty - I get these from eating French bread or baguettes. Did you eat anything like this recently?

However, this may be a kind of ulcer that needs medical attention or could be some other kind of injury or growth that requires an evaluation

If you do not heal in the next week, it's important to see a doctor.

Will you keep us posted, Anon?

This sounds like good news!

The little hole will likely heal in a few days.
