Have had 2 courses of Antibiotics for Cystitis, 3 clear urine samples. Still getting mild symptoms do I need more antibiotics

This must be really frustrating for you. It sounds like your urinary tract may still be inflamed, even if the infection itself is gone. Sometimes you continue to have the spasms and inflammation with clear urine samples. This can become chronic, although I wouldn't worry about it yet. It is possible also that the bacterial count is too low to be measured but still there. That can happen if your urine is really dilute or right after the antibiotics finish but then the bacteria can regrow if they weren't all eliminated.

The regrowth can happen if your bladder doesn't fully empty for some reason or if the antibiotic doesn't fully work against your particular bacteria. That leaves a tiny reservoir for new bacteria to grow. If the symptoms continue, your urologist should do further testing to be sure you are using the right antibiotic, your bladder is working properly, or the infection isn't up in your kidneys. Definitely see your physician so you can discuss options. Drink cranberry juice, which has been scientifically proven to help decrease UTIs. Drink lots of water. Good luck to you.
