I have medical insurance but my deductible is not attainable. I go to my GP DR. She recommended that I seek further assistance with a mental health professional. I have horrible bouts of depression and am unable to sleep more often than not. This has been on going for years the sleep that is the depression is causing issues with my partner and my child. I seem to be mad all the time. Any assistance would be great

Besides the cost of your treatment, you probably also have the cost of medication to deal with. In some states, there are prescription cards that supplement company-provided prescription coverage. The supplemental card is for generic drugs and can cover anyone in your family.

For example, I have one through our local major grocery chain's Rx. It cost me a whole one-time fee of $5, I have my daughter and spouse on it, and it greatly reduces the cost of prescription drugs to as much as $9.99. Considering my daughter spends $40/month on one of her prescriptions, she'll see a considerable savings.

As already suggested, if you give us some more information that we can work with, we'll see what we can do to find resources for you that might help you out.

Wishing you all the best.

Hi Anon,

Like Susan said, if you can give us some additional information, I'm sure we can help you find some resources in your area.

Lack of sleep can certainly be a cause of depression or vice versa. I remember the days when I couldn't sleep and wasn't very nice to my family either. I didn't like the way I was, but I had no control over my emotions at all. There were times I would say things that I didn't even knew I knew how to say and then I'd go upstairs and cry. I finally did tell my husband and daughter what was going on with me so they could better understand that it really wasn't anything they'd done. I asked them to be patient with me while I tried to figure out what was wrong with me.

I am so much better now. In my case, it was getting my hormones balanced. I'm not sure what the cause is for you, but I want you to know there is hope and you will find the answers. We just need to see if we can help you find the right resources.

Thanks for coming and posting your story to our site. You are a very brave and insightful woman. I am so proud of you for reaching out to us.

Big hugs,
Michelle
