Q:

Have there been any indications of causal connection with use of abuterol based or other COPD inhalers to Bladder Cancer

I was diagnosed with bladder cancer 4 years after beginning use of abuterol based inhalers for (first) asthma (then copd) and have been using the inhalers ever since with increasingly aggresive bladder cancer.
Most long term smokers are on the same inhalers I use ...what is the connection??

That is a very good question. I have access to thousands of journals. I searched on PubMed (indexing over 5,000) journals and I searched Medline (more than 4,600) journals. I did not find any journals related to your topic. It makes me wonder whether they have really begun studying this area. I thought about long term effects when my daughter started taking those medicines. I was able to get her off of them, but it is difficult in some situations. I'm not sure if the physicians know. What do you think? I'll let you know if anything turns up in a search.
