It is a matter of time before people will want to know their genetic predisposition to prevent diseases they were programmed for by their genes. The new world of Epigenetics suggests that knowing your "book of life" (DNA/genes) in advance would help doctors guide the direction of your health treatments long before a disease manifests. There is more evidence than with proper nutrition our genes can respond by modifying its programming (this is called DNA expression) thus preventing certain illnesses.

Will there be a risk getting a APOE test done? Here is a recent article on The Scientist that addresses possible dangers if this information is not managed carefully. Another question on this topic is whether or not Insurance Companies will be necessary in the future if medicine moves in the direction of "Customized Healthcare" as supposed to "one0size fits all"

Apoe testing is offered now privately and the results could be very benefitial for the doctor to direct the right treatments for you? What are your thoughts about this trend?
