Have you tried Diet Pills?

I think many women have at least tried diet pills. I made the mistake of trying Alli and spent a lot of money on a bottle and the side effects...let's say I stopped straight away and lost my weight the old fashioned way.

Now that I am maintaining pretty well, I am still seeing ads for tons of weight loss pills, some that cost an absolute fortune.

Alli is FDA approved which made it sell pretty quickly at first but now - not so quickly. Those side effects are pretty terrible!

I will no longer try anything like that again. Not that I was an experimenter in diet pills, I just thought - let's give it a shot. But it's not for me.

Has anyone else tried diet pills? Have they worked? Do you combine them with calorie restriction and exercise?

I have been taking Alli on and off for the last few months and although I have not had bad side effects I have also not lost any weight with them. Several years ago I tried Phen-Phen which I lost about 30 lbs but after a while my body adjusted to the meds and they become less and less effective over time.

I heard today that Phen-Phen has corrected the problems with it's users having heart problems and they are coming back to the market again.

Has any one out there taken Phen-Phen and would you consider taking them again when they are released again?

About seven years ago, I tried one of the popular diet pills on the market. While I did loose a couple of pounds, my eyes became extremely dry and itcy and I had the jitters like I was amped up on too much coffee. My coworkers also made comments about how edgy I was. I vowed to never take them again until someone told me about so-called stackers, which are dubious mix of caffeine, aspirin and ephedra. Yeah, not much better on those, either. I know women who say they couldn't have lost weight without the help of diet pills, but I'll pass on the pills and eat rabbit food and work out like a spartan any day.

make me wish I was a company that made them, they're a mega-billion dollar business! I have tried a few different products including Alli. Those "NTE's" (negative treatment effects) are enough to make someone stop taking the pills. Other diet pills also "cleanse" your system; but, I'd rather eat more roughage and spend the money on a treadmill.
