HI, Csterling, and thank you for your question.
While it's rare, yes, a woman can get pregnant during her period. When you miss three days of birth control pills, it's possible to ovulate, and if you have unprotected sex during that time, it's possible for the egg to become fertilized and for you to become pregnant. You'll want to figure out when your next period is expected (I know it's hard since you're still spotting on this one) and, if it doesn't come on time, take a HPT to be sure.

Csterling,
You're so welcome. I know that figuring all this out isn't easy, is it?
I do still think it's possible for you to become pregnant, though unlikely. However, because the period is still going on, and it's three weeks now, I would like you to just put in a phone call to your doctor's office and speak to the nurse or the nurse practitioner. Tell them what's going on and ask their advice. They may want you to start an entirely new pack of pills to get you past this long long period. Can you do that?
