I'm ststring to wonder if this could maybe be an early sign that I could be pregnant and if so when would be the best time to take a home test?

Well when i got my last period at the begining of the month i was actually on holiday, and as i was away with my boyfriend for two weeks we had sex almost twice a day for the two weeks we were there. I hope next month i won't recieve my period and we'll be really happy that we've finally concieved. I'll read more about it and thank you ... if i have anymore questions i'll post them.

Hi,
I was in your same boat, as many woman are. I know it's frustrating when all we hear is how to prevent a pregnancy...and we think that the second we stop birth control, we should instantly conceive! It took us 6 months, and I was absolutely astonished each month I got my period. I was also frustrated, sad and tired of "trying".

Experts tell women to have frequent, unprotected sex (every-other day is the ideal, but not usually plausible) whenever you can, regardless of the timing of your cycle. Have fun with it, know it is a process and can take up to 12 months to conceive---even without any infertility conditions.

Hi jo_jo369,
I can say from experience that the period is normal (your period can change month to month with slight variances), the discharge is typical of being in the second week of your menstrual cycle. It's what happens when you are getting ready to ovulate. Other types of discharge may include a more stretchy type of "egg white"-like fluid, and then of course the normal red, rusty, or more brownish menstruation fluid. As far as the problems keeping food down, is it possible you experienced a slight tummy bug, or excessive stress of some kind? Just asking.
If you are not trying to get pregnant, you may want to consider more effective birth control like condoms, birth control pills, and spermicide creams (let us know if you need more information on this). If you are trying to get pregnant, keep at it. And you may want to ramp up the efforts now if you're still getting that discharge.
Good luck and let us know how you're doing.

Yes I've had unprotected sex for the past few months, after I had these first couple of days of spotting I had what felt like a normal period but it only lasted two days and was lighter than normal for me. That was about two weeks ago and the past week I've found it hard to keep foods down and I've got really thick White discharge, what would your advice be on this from now? Thank you!

Hi Jo_jo

This is totally normal. It is spotting that has taken a while to leave the body so it is brown, the color of dried blood. It is likely an indicator that your period is going to start.

Have you had unprotected sex? Often home pregnancy tests suggest you wait until the week after a missed period to take them, but it varies by brand so read the directions.

Good luck.
