My 18 year old daughter is having an AWFUL time. She was diagnosed with endometriosis at age 13 and had a laporoscopy shortly thereafter. She has been on continuous birth control ever since. She again started having awful pain last year and had another laporoscopy to clean things out again. We took her to a gyn specialist and he put her on the Lupron-Depo shots for 6 months. Well, 4 months ago, the pain came back along with blood in urine/stool, weight loss, high BP, nauseau, fever at night, menopausal symptoms, irritability, signs of depression, and extreme fatigue. She says that she feels like her insides are slowly decaying and she is going to die. She was direct admitted to nursing school and will graduate in 3 years, then plans to attain a PHD in nurse anesthetist. She played 3 sports in high school and WAS extremely active. I unfortunately had similar symptoms when I was younger and had 9 surgeries with a complete hysterectomy at age 24. I feel as though there is some underlying cause that everyone is missing. I feel so helpless and hate watching her suffer. She has had CT scans, ultrasounds, blood/urine cultured, MRI, endoscopy and ALL of her tests come back completely normal. PLEASE HELP!

Guide

I can appreciate your frustration and as a mother myself, we never want to see our child suffer.
Reviewing your daughter's symptoms and all the diagnostic testing that been done, I have one question for you. Has she been worked up for a parapelvic cyst?
Symptoms of a parapelvic cyst include:
lower back pain, hematuria (blood in the urine), high blood pressure, fever and chills. A larger cyst can be felt as a touchable abdominal mass.

This type of cyst is picked up on diagnostic imaging of the kidney, such as an ultrasound, CT scan or MRI.
I do hope the cause of her symptoms is found soon .

I am not quite sure. I know she has had KUBs, ultrasound of the kidneys, along with CT scans, and MRI's focusing on the pelvic region. She has an appointment with another kidney specialist in two weeks. Every one keeps blaming the endometriosis but her gynecologist (which specializes with endometriosis/infertility) assures us that it is not since she is on the Depo-Lupron. She has had one kidney stone (runs in the family on both sides) but passed it with no problem. I am starting to feel desperate! Thanks for your advice and time.
