i have had an ongoing problem with vaginal tearing for a year and 1/2 now...ive had a biopsy on the vulva which disclosed high grade dysplasia, then surgery to remove that... waited 7 weeks to have intercouse and then ripped again... its very painful with intercouse and rips open everytime even though my partner is not big. it always heals, but then always rips open. my ob cant figure out what is goin on so he referred me to dermatology specialist. she wants 500.00 cash up front and i have no insurance. it is thru her site that i learned of this condition and then googled it. i have all symptoms and believe this is my problem. i read the treatment for it and doses... will it be ok if i order the clobetasol propioate cream online and treat myself??? has anyone had a similar problem and used cream and was cured??? please help me. i am only 27 and not even married... this is affecting more than one area of my life

I was diagnosed a few years ago and have recently started physio. My physiotherapist recommended I purchase a dialator set and I stretch my skin every night. It has really helped.

Hi Frustrated Woman,

I'm so sorry to hear that you have yet to get a diagnosis on your condition. However, you still need to get diagnosed before you start treating it with medication purchased online. You don't have to see the dermatology specialist that your doctor referred you to if you can't afford the $500 but you can look for one on your own--including a public health clinic or anything that you can afford. But please, bring up the possibility of Lichen Sclerosus to your doctors and get a diagnosis with proper treatment before using anything that's not prescribed.

Best Wishes,

Rosa
