"Bad cramps" are not the typical sign of early pregnancy before your period begins; cramping is more often associated with an upcoming period. However, early pregnancy signs and pre-menstrual signs can be identical, as hormones lead to many of these sensations and symptoms, so any symptoms you have before your period (if you are hoping they are pregnancy related) are indistinguishable from a menstrual period.
Does that makes sense? I can rephrase if it does not. :)
Can you explain what you mean by "bad cramps"? Are you experiencing menstrual-like cramps, or do they feel more like the cramping/discomfort you would feel with diarrhea...or are they more severe?

hi thanks for reply yes it made sense thanks :), the cramps i am experiencing are typical of what I would expect around ovulation but more severe, not like tummy upset ones.

Hi alisonsr,
If you are having severe cramps, a call to your doctor would be wise. You would not have any pregnancy-related symptoms during ovulation (you would not be pregnant yet), so any cramping would either be due to early menstruation, ovulation, gastrointestinal issues or other factor.
How long have the cramps been happening? The word "severe" is concerning to me, and if you are experiencing any type of pain that you describe as severe, a call to your doctor would be recommended.
