Hi, I feels very low due to my health issues. I am a young girl, age-27 with no serious health issues, still I feel dizziness and uneasy and can't put my effort much physically and mentally. I have very small tits also and my body doesn't develop as per my age. This is very embarrassing for me for so many reasons. Shall I go for any check up or medications for all these problems? Pls guide me.

Hello Anonymous and welcome to EmpowHER -

Yes, it would be a good idea to see your healthcare provider for a thorough check up. In fact, it would help to plan on having a "well woman" exam every year to look out for your health.

There could be many reasons for what you describe as dizziness. You also seem to be concerned about your body not developing as you would like. By working with your doctor, and perhaps others, you may be able to find a variety of options for help, including working with a nutritionist to change your diet if needed, or working with other experts if you are dealing with a hormonal condition. In any case, you need to see a professional who can help you go forward.

Additionally it sounds like it would be helpful to work with a mental health professional who can help you understand what healthy self-esteem looks like and steps you can take to better appreciate and support yourself just as you are.

The answer to your concerns isn't likely to be found in a prescription and I hope you will seek the support you need, and deserve, very soon.

Best,

Pam

Thank you Pam for the advise and welcoming me
It would be grateful. Whenever I visit a gyno or any doctor they simply suggest some vitamin capsules and non vegetarian diet which I can't take as I am a vegetarian. Taking so many vitamin and calcium capsules seems not feasible for life long and my body is not adapting food in good way. What are the good doctors you can suggest.

Anon, it sounds like your doctors aren't taking your concerns seriously, so it may be in your best interests to find new doctors.

In the meantime, congratulations on being a vegetarian, which can have many great health benefits! Some experts suggest that a vegetarian diet may even lower the risk of heart disease, Type 2 diabetes, and cancer.

When you're vegetarian, eating a balanced diet requires a bit more attention because certain foods have been removed from the diet. Since nutrients found in meat products have been removed, it requires extra attention to make sure that these nutrients are replaced by adding other foods such as fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts and seeds, soy products, and whole grains.

Also, be sure to get enough iron, calcium, vitamin D, vitamin B12, and omega–3 fatty acids when planning your diet.

Here is a great article from the EmpowHER community about vegetarian meal planning https://www.empowher.com/diet-amp-nutrition/content/vegetarian-meal-planning

The article also includes references that can help you with meal planning, something that I hope you will enjoy and that will also help you with your health.

Take care,

Pam
