If you had unprotected sex today and would like to prevent any chance of pregnancy you can purchase an emergency contraceptive pill at your drug store over the counter.
Emergency contraceptives are effective when taken up to 72 hrs after unprotected sex but should not be taken as a regular method of birth control... only in emergency situations.
