A radio spot this morning was about hormone allergies and how they cause weight gain, among other issues. I've not heard of this before. Is this real? What is a "hormone allergy?"

Thanks for the info. The radio spot was for a local clinic. Unfortunately, that clinic has a spotty history with the law, here, so I was reticent to give it much credence. All the same, the topic caught my interest, as we seem to be facing so many, and new, allergies brought on by environmental conditions, our food sources, and so on.
So, in effect, we're potentially creating allergic reactions to ourselves! yikes!

Great question. According to a 2006Science Daily article based on an American Journal of Reproductive Immunology study, some women may actually experience a hormone allergy.
"Some women with menstrual cycle disorders like asthma and migraine headaches may be experiencing allergies to their own estrogen and progesterone hormones, Texas researchers have discovered."
Is the radio spot selling a service? If so, what is it?
