Hi Anon

Thanks for your post!

The flu (as in, influenza, not a bad cold) can take anywhere from 5 days to three weeks to recover from.

But there are ways to speed up recovery.

See your doctor for something called Tamiflu or Relenza.

These are prescription medications that can be taken if you have been exposed to the flu (but have no symptoms) or have the flu - but they need to be taken within 48 hours of the first symptoms. This isn't always easy for the patient who may be hoping they are getting a cold rather than flu and by the time they realize they have the virus, it's too late.  But when taken in time, it has a high success rate.

Rest, chicken soup (really!) and a lot of hydration will make recovery faster.  Advil can help ease body aches.

A flu vaccine can lessen your risk of even getting the flu.

Has this helped, Anon?
