The best way to know someone's sexual orientation is to ask them. People know who they are attracted to, but they do not always choose to share that information. Your best bet is to ask, and then respect the person's answer or preference not to discuss it. If you are involved with this person and they are not comfortable discussing sexual orientation with you, then you may need to re-evaluate your relationship.
