how do you know if plan B worked?

i had my period on may 27,2011. My boyfriend and i had sex twice on the 4th on June. I took a dose of plan b on Sunday the 5th. and that whole week following we had unprotected sex and I had breakthough bleeding that started on the 10th. It has been really red and kinda slimy looking, and a couple days after taking plan b i felt like I was getting ready to ovulate, which on the 9th I had the slimy eggy discharge (ovulation?) which was due. Could I have ovulated? Could I still end up pregnant? I am kinda hoping so.... what are the chances?

Hi Jenn0518,

You would need to wait until the end of June, to know if you will have a regular menstrual period (since your last menstrual period was May 27th). Taking Plan B can cause some irregularity in your cycle, so it is difficult to say if the discharge you experienced was due to ovulation, if it was semen from unprotected sex (ejaculatory fluids can linger inside a woman's body for 3-5 days), or just normal vaginal discharge.

You can use a home pregnancy test once you miss your period at the end of this month, and at that time, the test would be about 99% accurate. Good luck!

I also forgot to say I only took one of the plan b pills. The other pill was misplaced and we later talked about having a baby of our own since i have already
